What's here
There is a five-county area of southeast Missouri that is one of the richest anywhere for natural attractions and the opportunity to enjoy nature. Whether for a weekend getaway or a full scale vacation, you can get in on what thousands have already discovered. Have fun and enjoy this part of the Missouri Ozarks.
There's more.
The River Hills Traveler calls it "the wildest, wettest, most scenic and historic part of Missouri." Most of the state's wilderness areas are right here, much of Missouri's national forest, several beautiful rivers, two major reservoirs, several smaller lakes, two major wetlands and other conservation lands.
And colorful events - many stemming from the rich history of the region. Or, you don't have to DO anything - you can almost drive at random and be awed by the scenic beauty of the area.
Five counties? (Carter, Iron, Madison, Reynolds, Wayne) Well, nature doesn't follow man-made lines. The five counties are the heart of the eastern Ozarks. There's more to see just across the lines. But the Go Natural Travel Region is the place to start.
